Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Cardinal John Henry Newman Collection holds correspondence, writings, photographs, illustrations, booklets, pamphlets, and journals relating to Newman's life and legacy. Roughly half of the collection dates from Newman's lifetime (1836–1881) and consists of his personal correspondence, writings, and portraits, as well as a folder of materials concerning Thomas Youdan, a student at Newman's Oratory School.
