Historical Note
Cross and Crusible, known in its earliest years as the Chemists' Club, was the primary student organization devoted to the study of chemistry. The Chemists' Club hosted lectures and conversations, and required students to maintain a 80% or more in their chemistry courses in order to remain a member. The club changed its name to Cross and Crucible in the early 1940s. The Hormone was the undergaduate publication maintained by the club, and appears to have accepted submissions from students at other colleges. The journal was shared and known internationally. The club was also affiliated with the American Chemical Society.
