This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

The Eastern European Studies Club was formed in 1972 as the Ukrainian Club at College of the Holy Cross. The club was founded by a group of second-generation Ukrainian-American students with the goal of education themselves and Holy Cross on the current affairs, history, and culture of Ukraine. The club then became the East European Studies Club in 1974. In its early years, the club sponsored a variety of events, including Easter egg decorating, folk dancing, and lectures. The club would continue to sponsor events and many lectures through the 1980s.
