Scope and Contents
This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note
The Economics Organization was founded circa 1987 as The Holy Cross Society of Political Economy. The purpose of this organization was to promote interest in Economics on the campus through lectures, discussions, and publication of the Holy Cross Journal of Political Economy. The club changed its name circa 1989 to the Economic Organization.
