This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

The Fitton Debating Society was the College's early debating club for Freshmen and Sophomores. The goal of the club was to train and prepare students to join the highly esteemed Bishop Joseph Fenwick Debating Society as juniors and seniors. The debaters competed in the annual Freshmen vs. Sophomore Debate, as well as in debates with other schools.
