This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

Phrontisterion, the Classics Club, was founded with the purpose of encouraging an interest in the Classics among the Holy Cross community, offering space for students and professors to gather, and organizing Classics events for the campus. The previous name of the club appears to have been Eta Sigma Phi, and appearrs to have changed to Phrontisterion Circa 1971. The club also helped coordinate Clasics Day.
