Scope and Contents
This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note
The Scientific Circle (later known as the Scientific Society) was founded circa 1890s. In its earliest years, the club held lectures and performances for the community. The Circle was then restructured and renamed the Scientific Society circa 1915. The club had members from all science courses, and held lectures on topics from multiple disciplines in the sciences, but with a focus on manufacturing and modern innovation changes.
