This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

The 1843 Club, founded in the 1960s, is a student organization created to provide entertainment and social activities to the entire campus. The 1843 Club was also specifically in charge of running Homecoming, the Winter Weekends, major concerts, and the Orientation mixers. The club also helped build relationships with other colleges.
