This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

The Side-Door Cafe Committee was formed to coordinate entertainment for the Cafe, and to promote a relaxed atmosphere for the community to enjoy and to perform in. The Side-Door Cafe was a small coffee house located on the first floor of Kimball, next to the theater. The primary entertainment was folk-rock music performers.
