Scope and Contents
This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note
The Holy Cross Marching Band, known in its earliest years as The Band, as well as the Holy Cross Crusader Band and also as the Holy Cross Good Time, was founded circa 1927 and played in its early years at the Holy Cross football games on campus, as well as the football games at Harvard and Boston College. Later on, the Marching Band would go on to play at basketball games and other sports as well. Their performances included pregame shows, halftime shows, pattern marching on the fields and more. The band also performs at local chindren's groups and area hospitals, as well as performs in local town parades.
