Historical Note
Intramural athletics at Holy Cross began as interhouse competitions in 1895 and officially organized in 1930 by Father Maurice V. Dullea, S.J. Intramural sports provide the opportunity for students to compete against other Holy Cross students in league play. Each league lasts about 4-6 weeks and culminates in the crowning of an intramural champion for each sport. Clubs are formed by groups of students and often compete with other sports clubs from other colleges and universities.
