This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

BACCHUS, Boost Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students, was the student organization on campus made to educate peers on developing "responsible habits and attitudes toward the use or non-use of beverage alcohol." The organization also provided alcohol free social activites on and off campus.

This organization was previously known as "Students for Responsible Drinking" and was known as such from 1982-1991 before being renamed "BACCHUS" in the 1991-1992 academic year.
