Scope and Contents

From the Record Group:

This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

The Holy Cross Computer Society was created with the goal to promote, improve, and develop interest in computing and information technologies among the Holy Cross community. The club advocated for the purchase of a campus computer in 1997 and other important devices. It also held seminars and trainings in basic computer skills for all members of the community, such as in basic web page creation.
