Scope and Contents

This record group documents student organizations at the College throughout its history with the earliest materials dating to 1848. Records of these organizations are arranged into the following eleven series: Academic Organizations; Arts Organizations; Campus Service Organizations; Club Sports and Recreational Organizations; Media Organizations; Multicultural Organizations; Peer Education Organizations; Philanthropic Organizations; Pre-Professional Organizations; Religious Organizations and Special Interest Organizations. Within each series, individual clubs and organizations are arranged in alphabetical order.

Historical Note

Student Alcohol Advisors (SAAs) are a group of specially trained student volunteers who offer education and information to interested students on aspects of alcohol and alcohol abuse. The SAAs operated under confidentialty, acted as a referral agent when needed, ran events on alcohol education, inluding an alcohol awareness week. The SAAs were affiliated at different points in time with students for Responsible Drinking, the Office of Student Alcohol Education, and the Counseling Center.
