Historical Note

SPUD organizes student volunteer initiatives in the Worcester community in an effort to seek social justice through service. The organization aims to help marginalized groups and is supported by the Office of the College Chaplains. Since the 1960s, SPUD has continued to grow and merge with smaller volunteer clubs like Big Brothers, School Volunteers of Worcester, and the Appalachia Service Project. It is presently the largest student organization at Holy Cross.
