Biographical / Historical

Vincent Rougeau is the first layperson to be president of the College of the Holy Cross. Prior to coming to Holy Cross in the Fall of 2021, he was the Dean of Boston College Law School and also served as the director of the Boston College Forum on Racial Justice in America.

Rougeau received his B.A. from Brown University in 1985 and his J.D. from Harvard University in 1988. He then went on to practice law at Morrison & Foerster in Washington, D.C. from 1988-1991. From 1991 until 1997, he taught as a professor at Loyola University, when he got hired as an associate professor of law at Notre Dame Law school. He was then hired as their Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 1999-2002.
