Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of materials created by the College of the Holy Cross and by other newspaper publishers. Materials include newsprints, game summaries, statistics, prospectus and media guides, schedules, ephemera such as game posters and brochures, press releases, and ticket information. Materials date from 1944 to 2021 and are arranged in chronological order.

Historical Note

Holy Cross sponsors 27 varsity sports, each of which competes at the NCAA Division I level. The Men's hockey team has been competing since 1944, and has played in the NCAA tournament finals twice in 2004 and 2006 against Minnesota and North Dakota respectively. Many of the players went on to the pro leagues, with the latest pickup being in 2018 to the Cincinnati Cyclones. Coach Paul Pearl was also a finalist for the National Coach of the Year award in 2011.
