Scope and Contents

This record group is comprised of materials created by The College of the Holy Cross and by other newspaper publishers. Materials include newsprint, press releases, media guides and statistics. Ephemera such as game parking passses, yearbooks, game schedules, and a field hockey summer camp brochure are also included. Materials date from 1974 to 2015 and are arranged in chronological order.

Historical Note

Holy Cross sponsors 27 varsity sports, each of which competes at the NCAA Division I level. The women's field hockey team has records dating back to 1974. Through the years, the team has played in the Patriot League and in NCAA tournaments. Additionally, the team had the opportunity to travel to Europe and participate in a pre-season warm-up event in 1988. Field Hockey team members have also received prestigious awards such as the NFHCA All-American award in 2002 and the PL Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1998.
