Scope and Contents

The Men's Golf Team records contain newsprints, game programs, game results, statistics, press releases, and media guides. Team rosters and yearbooks are also included as well as avariety of progrms for championships and tournaments. Materials date from 1927 to 1989 and 1996 to 2015. Items are arranged in chronological order.

Historical Note

Holy Cross sponsors 27 varsity sports, each of which competes at the NCAA Division I level. The men's golf team has competed against other schools and in championship tournaments since its inception. The team has collected numerous awards. Notable players from the team include Willie Turnesa, who claimed the New England Intercollegiate Champion title three years in a row from 1936 to 1938. Paul Harney was also a member of the men's golf team and went on to be a deocrated professional golfer on the U.S. PGA Tour.
