Scope and Contents
This collection contains a variety of materials including correspondence, photographs and illustrations, writing, booklets, pamphlets, and journals. All materials pertain to Cardinal John Henry Newman in some manner. About half of the collection dates to his lifetime such as his correspodence, writings and photographs of him. Additionally, there is a folder of material pertaining to Thomas Youdan, who attended Cardinal Newman's oratory school. These materials date from 1836-1881.
The other half of the collection mostly dates to the early 20th century and is writings about him including booklets, pamphlets and journals.
