Biographical Note
Frederick William Faber was born in 1814 in Calverley, England. He was a British Theologian who converted to Roman Catholicism later in life. He started a religious society, the Wilfridians. Known for his writings, Lives of Modern Saints (1847), The Foot of the Cross (1858), and Notes on the Doctrinal Subjects (1866), Faber is best membered as a hymnist. His most popular hymns included, “Hark! Hark, My Soul” and “My God, How Wonderful Thou Art.” Faber died in 1863 in London, England.
