Biographical Note
Gerard Reedy, S.J. was born in Bellerose, New York on October 25, 1939. He attended Regis High School and entered the Jesuits in 1957. He went on to study philosophy for Loyola Seminary and theology at Woodstock College. He earned his Ph.D. in English from the University of Pennsylvania 1973. After teaching English at Fordham University for 21 years, Reedy came to Holy Cross in 1994 to serve as president until 1998. Reedy died on March 11, 2016 and was buried in the college cemetery at Holy Cross.
