Biographical Note
Bishop Fenwick was born in Maryland in 1782. After receiving his degree from Georgetown University he served as the university’s president. He entered the Jesuit order in 1806 and was ordained in 1808. In 1825 he was appointed as the bishop of Boston. He would later establish the College of the College in 1843 after purchasing land from Rev. Fitton.
