Historical Note
The International Order of Alhambra was founded by William Harper Bennett as a fraternal Catholic organization to serve and assist people who are developmentally disabled. Created in 1904, the Order also aims to identify, memorialize and preserve Catholic Historic places. Rev. Vincent A. Lapomarda S.J., associate professor at Holy Cross, was the Chairman of the Committee on Historical Memorials for the Order.
