Biographical Note
Brendan McNally was born on August 29, 1909 to Patrick J. and Ellen McNally. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and attended Boston College Law School for a year before entering the Society of Jesus at Shadowbrook, Lenox, MA on August 14, 1931. He was ordained in 1942 at Weston College by Bishop Thomas A. Emmett, S.J. He was an Instructor at Holy Cross from 1938 to 1939 and returned as a professor in 1944. He received his Master of Arts degree in History from St. Louis University in 1938 and his doctoral degree in 1949. He was Moderator of the Purple Patcher. He died on September 15, 1958.
