The content of the collection is a single work written by Owen McNamara entitled Reminiscences of Fatherland. McNamara wrote this volume for his children as a source of enjoyment for themselves and their children. The work tells of McNamara’s family history and life in Ireland. It also covers McNamara’s journey to America as an immigrant.

Biographical Note
Owen McNamara was born in County Leitrim, Ireland on March 10, 1824. He immigrated to New York City later in life.
