Rev. George H. Costello Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of one box with 72 handwritten sermons identified as written by Rev. Costello, 1895-1908. Each sermon has a blue cover with a title and a date. The sermons are 4 to 8 pages in length and many corrections, cross-outs and marginal notes. They are arranged chronologically. Some of the sermons are written on Stationary of T. Costello and Co., Lowell, Mass. This collection was found in the Treasure Room of Dinand Library. The library received books and other material from Costello’s estate.

Biographical Note
Rev. George A. Costello was born in Lowell, MA in 1890 and attended high school in the city. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1890 and studied for the priesthood in Brighton, MA. He was the rector of St. Bridget’s parish in Lexington, MA at the time of his death. He died on September 27, 1915.
