Unidentified Account Book
This small volume contains accounts of legal and business transactions and is arranged in two parts. The first part appears to be for legal services for witnesses, (court?) officers, stationary, etc. It begins in 1858 and ends in the mid 1860’s with approximately 27 pages of entries. The second part of the volume records the sales of flour, grain, meal, oats etc. These transactions occur in the early 1860’s and one location that is mentioned is Bellingham (Massachusetts?).
Unidentified Diary and Notes
Unidentified Notebook
This small volume contains approximately 40 pages of poetry and writings copied from various sources. It was owned by an unknown person, perhaps a student, but was the gift of “Fr. Rector” in 1880. It is possible that was Rev. Edward Boone, S.J. ninth president of Holy Cross.
Many of the entries were copied from well-known authors such as Emerson and Wordsworth and some are the works of Catholic clergy. There are several loose religious items in the volume.
