This volume contains approximately 240 pages of poetry in English and Gaelic. The volume was begun on March 17, 1893 in Lawrence, MA and was dedicated to Daniel J. Moran of Willimantic, CT. There is an index in the back of the volume and several loose items of poetry taken from the book in the folder.

Rev. Owen A. Hill, S.J. Poetry Book
This small leather notebook contains hand-written poems by Rev. Owen Hill, S.J. Many of the poems relate to religious matters including saints, the Catholic Church and Jesuits. There are several poems about the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. On the inside back cover is a poem entitled “Alumni Hall” about the building at Holy Cross.
Sermons and Writing Book
This volume contains writings in Gaelic as well as two poems in English written by Patrick Denn. The author of the volume is unclear but it is believed to be Patrick Denn. The poem at the end of the volume is dated July 30, 1816 and there is a notation on the first page in Latin for the College of the Holy Cross. There are approximately 200 pages.
