This collection contains homilies and notes on homilies delivered by Bishop Flanagan. Additionally, there is information on topics he was interested in preaching about. The collection is arranged alphabetically by topic.
Blanche Bryant Collection
This collection contains a scrapbook, which has newspaper clippings and pictures of Edward Kavanagh as well as early Catholics and Churches of Maine. Additionally, there is typed and handwritten letters concerning the history of the Catholic Church in Maine. Finally, there are small pictures of churches and historic buildings in Maine. The material ranges in dates from the early 1920s to the 1940s.

Monsignor John J. Fletcher Collection
This contains an assortment of autographed letters, manuscripts of European Catholic Ecclesiastics. The dates of the letters range from the 15th century through the 20th century.
Rev. Albert Peters, S.J. Papers
The collection contains six journals belonging to Fr. Peters. Four of these journals concern meditations and sermons written by him. Another journal contains inspirational stories and parables while the last journal contains literary quotations, poetry and retreat material. Also included in the collection are Fr. Peters’ sister’s Last Will and Testament and a signed document stating that he will abide by the Papal decree of Sacrorum Antistitum.
Rev. Charles E. Buckley, S.J. Papers
This collection contains Fr. Buckley’s personal documents and photographs, which include certificates, family photographs, and type-written sermons mostly dating from the 1940s-1970s. The sermons are organized by the Ecumenical calendar. There are also miscellaneous items written on Holy Cross stationary. This collection also contains Rev. Buckley’s undated retreat material that is organized into 4 folders.
Rev. Edward J. Duff, S.J. Papers
This collection contains the papers of Fr. Duff and includes publications, essays, writings, correspondence, photographs and slides. Notably, the collection holds his papers regarding Vatican II and World Council of Churches assemblies in New Deli and Switzerland. Materials in the collection date from 1930 to 1983.
Rev. Joseph P. Fox S.J., Papers
The majority of this collection consists of personal notes and homilies and are organized chronologically. The homilies are mostly hand-written and cover a wide-range of subjects such as adultery, abortion, and love. There is correspondence between Fox and the Abbey of Gethsemane as well as essays written by Fr. Fox.
Rev. M. J. Coyne Theology Notes
This collection consists of Rev. M. J. Coyne’s notebook from St. Joseph’s Seminary. This handwritten book has 266 pages dating from 1883-1888. Most of the passages of the book are written in Latin. It has a small picture of the seminary. This volume came with other books given to the library by Benjamin Davis.
