Scope and Contents This collection includes a typescript copy of the 534-page typescript diary kept by Fr. Foley documented his experience as a naval chaplain during the Second World War. The diary dates from April 1942 to January 1945. The diary mainly gives an account of his day-to-day activities while at sea but also includes battle descriptions and sermons he delivered. This collection contains the personal papers of Fr. Busam and includes his personal correspondence with the Knights of Columbus dating from 1961-1980 as well as legal papers. Additionally, there are invitations and anniversary records and some of these materials pertain to his Golden Julibee as a Jesuit. Additionally, the collections holds family portraits and vacation photographs dating from the 1930s through the 1970s. Most of these are black and white.
